Hotel is well situated and only a few minutes walk from the pavillion down the hill...parking is on the market place a few yards from the hotel but you need to park on the far end passed Sainsburys if its to be a market day... if you park nearest the hotel you will need to move your car by 5am! Rooms are meticulously clean and the bed was extremely comfortable with lovely linen and a kettle and coffee (perhaps a few herbal teabags would be good) Our room looked out onto the street but blind and curtain made it lovely and dark...There was a rock band on in the hotel at night (who were very good) and although we retired to bed whilst they were still playing we didnt hear a thing!! Breakfast was made with good quality ingredients and was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful

The Queens Head Hotel is what I would call an old no-frills traditional pub with lodgings - and that's a positive. The staff were very friendly, helpful and obliging upon arrival and throughout. The room was in a new-build separate annex to the rear of the pub and was quiet, clean, comfortable and had all the usual expected facilities. The hotel was very lively in the evening and had the bonus of live groups playing at weekends providing free entertainment. Breakfast was tasty and ample. Location was fairly central for the "upper" town and only a short walk away from Buxton Pavilion and the town centre.

Really nice clean room, looked like it had recently been refurbished. The room is in an annex at the rear of the pub, so no problem with noise from the bar. However you still had the convenience of being able to pop down to the bar for a pint or two. The included full English breakfast was excellent and a great start to the day. The pub is located near the main square in the town convenient for the main bus stops and around 15 minutes walk from the railway station. This made it a perfect base for my 4 days of walking the old railways in the local area.

The staff was super receptive, warm, welcoming and attentive to our needs, and promptly addressed a comment. The room was very comfortable, in the king bed we felt we had enough space, and it was recently fully renovated, so the heating, isolations and windows were working perfectly, which was very much needed as the bar is next door, but they took all steps for the guests not to be bothered by that. Also, well located in the town centre, and parking next door in the main market was easy.

The room was great- clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast, which was the full English type- you could select items from the breakfast menu, also juice and cereal was available- was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, even allowing my friends to wait in our room to surprise my wife (we went there to celebrate her birthday) before we'd officially booked in.
